INTERNATIONAL COALITION OF APOSTOLIC LEADERS USA

Statement of Faith

ICAL USA members adhere to the evangelical theological stream core doctrines of Christianity:

ICAL believes and agrees with the historic creeds of the universal Church of Christ: Nicene and Apostles Creed and the Lausanne Covenant.

:: CONCERNING APOSTOLIC LEADERS ::

We believe that all the ministries of Ephesians 4:11 have been given to the church throughout its history and remain relevant today while recognizing the uniqueness of the founding apostles of the church and its doctrine, established by the Lord himself.

We believe that the restoration of the apostolic and prophetic ministries, far from excluding the other ministries, provides the proper framework for their full exercise.

We affirm that there is no hierarchy of value within these ministries, but that they are to operate together for the good of the church according to the order established by God in 1 Corinthians 12:28 and Ephesians 2:20.

We believe that ministries are called to function or be in a relationship with an "apostolic team", coordinated by an apostle.

We believe that apostolic teams serve churches and works that are made of apostolic networks and live in a family spirit.

We believe that their mission is to train and equip members of the body of Christ to manifest a greater dimension of the Kingdom of God in the world, through ministries serving the church and ministries engaged in society.

We believe that the church is called to manifest the Kingdom of God in a spirit of service that excludes any desire or position of dominance. We do not believe that the church is called to dominate society or to take power over individuals in any way, be it religious, moral or political. (Mark 10:42-45).

We believe that the church is called to serve and demonstrate the Kingdom of God by being involved in all spheres of society through witness and influence (family, education, politics, media, arts, economy, science, technology, social, legal, leisure, sport, environment, etc.).

We believe that the vision of the Kingdom of God excludes any desire to impose a theocracy, but rather supports the separation of powers, respects the pluralism of beliefs, philosophies and spiritualities, and enters the public arena with a spirit of respect and humility.

We believe that the Kingdom of God goes beyond the Church. It is the witness and not the owner of it. It fights through prayer, witness and service and cannot claim to establish it.

The manifestation of the Kingdom of God can only be the effect of the Holy Spirit’s work in all its dimensions (fruits and gifts).

We believe that only the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ will bring about the full manifestation and establishment of the Kingdom of God. However, we expect to see ever greater manifestations and embodiments of the Lordship of Christ in all spheres of society.

We believe that beyond the different eschatological interpretations, it is important to look at the finality of world history and the fulfilment of God's redemptive plan through the advent of a new heaven and a new earth where justice will dwell. This hope speaks to us of a new world in which God will be all in all and in which redeemed humanity will enter into its eternal destiny in the service of God and in the responsibility of reigning with Christ.

We choose to live the eschatological tension between the already and the not yet without seeking to reduce it by any shortcut.

It is this hope that nourishes our commitment and involvement in the nations for the present time.

Created for apostolic leaders to experience exposure, access, & dialogue.
